You also don't go from "totally fine" to "touch me and I will literally kill you" within the space of 4 hours if you don't take your dosage. If he's taking cocaine that's totally fine but don't give prescription medicines made up side effects. Their most common side effects are sleepiness, weight gain and interference with your sex life. Andrew is on antipsychotics, right? They don't make you high. ![]() Each is individual and unique, they're each developed well, and most of them are fucking crazy. Without a doubt this novels strongest asset is its characters. In summary: Haikyuu!! you can read (except your ship will probably be canon at some point). What Sakavic does really well is (much like every sports anime ever) she MAKES you give a shit! Even if you have no idea what's going on! The scenes in which the team is actually playing are fast and frenzied, so it's easy to follow along with, and the classic "go team go we can do this!" scenes are intermixed with frequent swearing and emotional breakdowns so you won't be bored. Now, don't get me wrong when it comes to sports, I don't give a shit. So the backdrop of The Foxhole Court is Exy, a made up sport that is apparently like lacrosse (that thing they play in Teen Wolf) but is incrementally more violent, where players run around and beat the loving daylights out of each other with sticks. If that's not enough to sell you, here's four reason to read The Foxhole Court. The Foxhole Court follows Neil, an up and coming sports star (though not really)(or at all) as signs on with the worst Exy team in the country, chases a ball, gets into screaming matches and broods about his dark, mysterious past. PS: I love this review over on Goodreads."I will ask you only once to tone down that animosity." The only reason I’m giving this two stars instead of one is because it’s marginally better than the last few single-star books I’ve read. He deserves better than his current life. Literally the only positive thing I can say about this book is that it made me want to adopt Neil. I’m not sure why everything’s so violent and I keep hearing all this stuff about how cute Neil and Andrew are but they just keep fighting? (More accurately, Andrew keeps punching people for no good reason.) The book is about a made-up sport (Exy) that doesn’t even make any sense. Apparently the series gets better as it goes on, but I’m just not feeling it and I have no desire to keep going. It’s just a bunch of crazy kids beating each other up. I don’t know why this is tagged as an LGBT romance on Goodreads. Also, it’s Pride Month, so I thought it might be fitting. I’m really bad at this book-choosing thing lately. I just wasn’t feeling my predetermined #killingthetbr books and I was really sick of all of them turning out to be awful, so I tried to pick one that I thought I’d enjoy. I actually wasn’t even planning to read this book this month. ![]() ![]() Of course, I didn’t pick it up until four months later, but it’s the thought that counts. I figured I didn’t have much to lose by one-clicking the first book. There was one day, several months ago, when it seemed like the entire group was talking about how much they loved this series. Both groups post a ton of book recommendations and it’s generally terrible for my TBR. Maybe he’s finally found someone and something worth fighting for.ĭo you belong to any Facebook groups for your favorite authors? I do, but only two: Krista & Becca Ritchie’s Fizzle Force and Sally Thorne’s Flamethrowers. Neil has survived the last eight years by running. One of Neil’s new teammates is a friend from his old life, and Neil can’t walk away from him a second time. His lies will hold up only so long under this kind of scrutiny and the truth will get him killed.īut Neil’s not the only one with secrets on the team. The team is high profile and he doesn’t need sports crews broadcasting pictures of his face around the nation. Signing a contract with the PSU Foxes is the last thing a guy like Neil should do. He’s short, he’s fast, he’s got a ton of potential-and he’s the runaway son of the murderous crime lord known as The Butcher. ![]() Neil Josten is the newest addition to the Palmetto State University Exy team.
